How can you contact us at the site?
You can press the intercom bell at the entrance, which you will find by the conservatory at the back. There is also an intercom bell in the downstairs corridor. If you press the ‘call’ symbol, our phone will ring. It can sometimes take a few minutes to get there, because we live across the street. During the day, of course, we are usually at the guest house… You can always reach us via the intercom.
Information:
Downstairs in the corridor at the reception of our guest house, you will find information, among other things, about restaurants in Renesse and the surrounding area. If you have any questions, please let us know. You can also find a lot of information at: https://renesseaanzee.nl.
Breakfast:
Normally, the full breakfast is served in your room. Weather permitting, you can also have breakfast in our beautiful garden. At a time indicated by you (between 08:30 and 09:30 AM) we will prepare your breakfast and knock on your room door or bring it outside if you want to enjoy your breakfast in our beautiful garden.
Breakfast consists of warm rolls, a freshly boiled egg, butter, cheese, cold cuts, jam, Nutella, peanut butter and honey. Furthermore, you can choose from coffee and/or tea and enjoy a glass of delicious freshly squeezed orange juice.
Do you have any special requests? Then please let us know in good time.
Free and safe parking on the grounds of Pension Grol:
Parking is free in our garden car park. You can also park in front of the striped garage doors with a blue P sign on them: there is always enough parking space for our guests.
At night, we close the entrance gate of Pension Grol, so you can safely park your car in our garden.
Free parking spaces in Zierikzee, Middelburg, Veere and Domburg:
Parking is becoming increasingly expensive in Zeeland. In Veere and Domburg, parking charges can even go up to €5.20 per hour!
Below is a list of the addresses of car parks where you can (still) park free of charge at approx. 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from the centre, often through quaint little streets… All places that are well worth a visit!
With the money you save by parking for free, you can, for example, enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with something tasty at the address below…
Special, delicious coffee spots in Zeeland:
Pension Grol gate opening hours:
We close the large entrance gate in the evening around 10:30 PM. Our guests are given a key to this gate (on the room keyring). So you can always get in! Around 7 AM, the large entrance gate is opened again. The small gate, a little further on near the parking spaces, is always open – even at night!
Bicycles:
Bicycles can be rented from “Fixabike” in the centre of Renesse, approx. 150 metres from our guest house (Wilhelminaweg 8).
Our guest house offers you the possibility to store your own or rented bicycle in our bicycle shed. We also have a cycling map of the island of Schouwen-Duiveland for you, which you can use for free during your stay.
The surroundings are perfect for hiking and cycling. There are several fantastic cycling routes in the immediate vicinity: Zeeland has not been proclaimed a 5-star cycling province for nothing!
Languages:
We speak Dutch, German and English.
You will receive new towels daily (on request).
Non-smoking rooms:
Since Pension Grol is entirely smoke-free, we have made a covered ‘smoking pavilion’ in the garden, opposite our bicycle shed. Smoking is permitted everywhere in our garden.
Green key:
Our guest house does not have an official Green Key certificate, but we do try to do our bit for a sustainable future. Approximately one third of our energy consumption is generated by solar panels. You cannot see these solar panels, as they are located on the sunny side of the bungalow in the back garden. The remaining power is Green Electricity from Delta.
“Environment Street”:Behind our car park (behind the ivy hedge) you will find our “environmental street”. Among other things, there is a bottle bank/paper bin here. You will also find wheelie bins here for other waste, should you have any that you do not want in your room.
